And a meme I borrowed from @used_songs: Name a TV show you like, starting with each letter of the alphabet.

A- Addams Family, The (1960)
B- Buffy the Vampire Slayer
C- Charmed
D- Dollhouse
E- I’ve struggled with this one and I can only remember those that are in my “shows to watch” list LOL: Emerald City, Empire, Euphoria, The Exorcist, The Expanse
F- From Dusk Till Dawn
G- Gargoyles (it pains me to choose between this, Galavant, Game of Thrones, and Golden Girls. JSYK)
H- House M.D.
I- Iron Man: Armored Adventures
J- Justice League (I tried to think of another one as to not put two DC shows -Young Justice DESERVES a mention for s1 alone-, but couldn't come up with anything)
K- Like above, I could only come up with those I want to watch but haven’t: Killing Eve, Killjoys, Kings, Krypton. Okay, and Kim Possible. I didn’t watch it consistently but Kim/Shego was a very important part of my childhood xDD
L- Legacies
M- Misfits (never finished but for the most part I loved s1-2 SO MUCH)
N- Nikita
O- Orange is the New Black (which I should finish, one of these days…)
P- Phineas & Ferb (it was so goddamn weird. There’s new content since the last time I saw it and my brain can’t process that LOL).
Q- Couldn’t come up with one either. I’ve always wanted to try Quantum Leap?
R- Reign
S- Star Trek: Deep Space Nine
T- Terminator: the Sarah Connor Chronicles
U- Uhh… I want to watch The Umbrella Academy at some point. I’m 95% sure I’m gonna like it.
V- Vampire Diaries, The ETA: how could I forget Veronica Mars!! I adore that show. I haven't watched the latest season yet (I'm spoiled about the main things, but given the things I love about the show, I gather my opinion is going to differ from that of the majority). Sorry TVD, I've liked your 1st season a lot and I'm really into your canon, but I don't know you enough yet to put you above VMars xD
W- Wonder Woman
X- Xena: Warrior Princess
Y- Young Justice
Z- A friend insists I should watch Z Nation and to be fair it looks more appealing than most zombie content…

Given The Situation out there I'm going to be stuck at home for a while, so it's all gonna be memes, catching up with fiction, and writing these days, I'm guessing.

I've spent the weekend enjoying myself with the Three Sentences Ficathon. There are a lot of delightful snippets over there and it's a lot of fun.

If anyone's curious, here are the prompts I've filled:

What I prompted myself can be found at the end of page sixteen. I already got THREE BatCat fills, one for Diana, another for HP and the Black Family, and two Gomez/Morticia fills. In case anyone else feels inspired (wink wink), my other prompts are about Marvel (IronMasque), PotC (Barbossa &or/ Elizabeth), Ready or Not (Grace &or/ Mr. Le Bail), Rick & Morty (gen), and TGP (Chidi and students). And I definetly don't mind repeats for the others LOL.

I left some prompts in this dark femslash ficathon (Buffy/vampire!Willow, Diana/Poison Ivy, Cersei/Sansa, Jupiter/Kalique from Jupiter Ascending, Amma/Camille from Sharp Objects, Jesse/Riley from The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Ariel/Ursula, Gerda/the Snow Queen, and M'gann/Queen Bee from Young Justice). Sadly I'm mostly unfamiliar with the prompts left there by other people; a few of them are from fandoms in my short-term to-watch list and from ships that seem up my alley, so hopefully I'll write something for Femslash February. It'd be a shame not to do it with a fest so tailored to my interests LOL.

I left yet MORE prompts for this Sci-Fi/Fantasy prompt meme (Creature from the Black Lagoon, Diana/Wonder Woman, Jason Todd, Asriel/Marisa, Jupiter Ascending, and current comics' Tony Stark).

There will be a Pepperony anon kink meme over livejournal during February 14th, and given how much that fandom has veered away from smut lately I'm very excited about it xD.

And to finish this off, my reading list has informed me of an Aftercare is... fest, and I'm going to look it up and see if I can come up with any prompts (somehow, the hardest part of these things for me LOL).

AKA talk about someone who inspired you and recommend a fannish or creative resource.

For some reason, number 10 is the hardest one yet. You know that thing, where someone asks you a very specific question about your interests and suddenly you forget everything you’ve ever liked and every one of your opinions? It’s a little bit like that, at least for me LOL.

It’s not like I haven’t been inspired by people in fandom (though I’m admittedly terrible when it comes to following authors, and just jump through fandom to fandom without consistency), or original creators like Mary Shelley, Hitchcock, Emma Orzcy or William Marston, or other personalities like Nina Simone, Amelia Earheart or Lucille Ball. But for some reason my mind won’t cooperate when it comes to raving about them at length right now xD

I’ll say when it comes to inspiration to my own writing, what works best for me is visuals: paintings, fanart, aesthetic posts, etc. It’s basically the main reason I have tumblr, where I get a lot of ideas from my art, fanart and inspo tags. Fanartist are the best thing to happen to my creativity, NGL.

As for fannish and creative resources:

  • There are tons of blogs in tumblr that offer solid writing advice and links to resources. Some of my favorites are scriptshrink (with a lot of information about writing about mental illnesses), ao3commentoftheday (lots of good fandom advice and debates), monsterkinkmeme (prompts for monster lovers), or clevergirlhelps, for just about anything. Writeroftheprompts offers both prompts and advice, and has a handy masterlist here.
  • This site has space terminology provided by NASA for your sci-fi writing needs.
  • Writingexercises is one of my favorite ones. It’ll generate prompts, character traits, titles… Great for writer’s block, in my experience.
  • Bad Things Happen Bingo opens for new cards again on February 3rd and it's a pretty chill event, without deadlines, perfect if you're into heavy angst, whump, darkfic in general, etc.

I did number 5 a few days ago(comenting and introducing myself to new people. Though since I'm new here, I guess I'd done that since I started). So here's my wishlist!

  • I said this already, but I would love to get book recs. I love gothic novels and trashy romance novels more than anything. Horror, fantasy, historical fiction and sci-fi are my favourite genres (contemporary and "grounded" mundane stories are very much not my thing). Preferably with female protagonists and ideally with wlw romances. And I tend to steer clear of YA -the narration's style irks me.

  • I love fanart. Pretty art in general. I have trouble drawing a straight line with a ruler, so I'm mesmerized by the artistic talent out there. I would love it if anyone ever gave me a drawing as a gift; if they drew something for one of the fics that I hope to soon start publishing, I might even faint.

  • LBR, I'd love any kind of fanwork as a gift.

  • Wonder Woman related stuff. Recs, fanworks, links to cute merch, anything. On that vein, if someone wrote/drew/etc. Diana/Poison Ivy for me, I'd give them my firstborn.

  • Meeting one other person that watches Legacies (and is into Josie/Lizzie, but I know that's a hard one xDD).

AKA, recommending my favorite communities, fest and challenges + setting some goals for the upcoming year. I decided to do it this way because my short-term fandom goals align with those challenges.

My fannish history has been that of a lurker until recently.

I discovered fandom pretty early, when I was around 10 years old. Back then I read tons of BTVS and Harry Potter darkfics in fanfiction dot net, mostly centered around femslash and slash couples (and tried not to think too much about what that meant lol). I was terrified at the idea that my parents found out what I liked to read, let around write -I used all the tricks possible to hide my notebooks, since I was too paranoid about using the house's computer. For the same reason, I only read fic in the local library's outdated computers, I never made an account and always commented annonymously.

With time the list of fandoms I read expanded -DC, Marvel, Star Trek...-, but by necessity I stayed a lurker for a long, long time. Then things got difficult during college, and I mostly withdrew from fandom, and writing in general, altogether.

I always used writing as catharsis, more than anything (which was another reason why I couldn't let anyone see what I wrote -it got heavy at times), and a few of my new fandoms (Legacies and His Dark Materials, mostly) and old ones (what with the MCU sort-of ending, and DC and Star Trek trying to lure me back in), I started itching more and more to write again. Around last month I got back some inspiration, and away from home and with my own computer, I ended up making a tumblr and ao3 accounts. I mostly reblog pretty gifs and fanart along with meta and political posts in the first, and I have yet to post anything in the second. But soon!

And that's my very short fandom history.
