Utsui a été élevée par deux femmes en couple, qui lui ont toujours dit qu'elle pouvait aimer qui elle voulait. Elle se sent coupable de n'aimer personne.
Parmi les amis de ses parents, sa personnes préférée est Tamon. Iel ne lui demande jamais des nouvelles de sa vie amoureuse ; mais iel est aussi très bizarre, parlant à des créatures invisibles.

De nombreuses années plus tard, les recommandations de Tamon sur commment contacter les être magiques serviront enfin à Tamon, qui se fera une amie surprenante.

Je ne sais pas quoi penser de cela. En soi, le scénario queer le le scénario surnaturel n'ont pas l'air tant connectés que cela, cela donne un peu l'impression de lire deux hsitoires différents, c'est déstablisant. Mais j'ai trouvé certains sentiments très touchants, et le dessin très beau, comme peint à l'encre, et je réalise que j'ai envie de lire le tome 2.

Reccer's Notes: Well, well, well... this story actually utilizes the 19-year age gap in a way no one else has done (to my knowledge), because in this story Viggo is actually Orlando's teacher. Yes, you are reading correctly. This story deals with a student/teacher relationship. If this squicks you out, it's probably safer if you skip this. If you are game, you can look forward to a lot of "we really shouldn't"-arguments interspersed with hot sex scenes. Apart from the subject matter and the fact that Razzle is an amazing writer, this story is interesting insofar as Orlando has a very go-get-them attitude. He's the driving force behind much of the plot. Most of the time, he's written as the more passive in the relationship, so if you want character dynamics that are a little off the beaten path, this might be something for you.

I just finished doing my laundry, I wanted to get it taken care of before the power cut tomorrow morning.
My hair gets the worst knots in it, it drives me crazy. It took me half an hour just to brush and comb it a little while ago.

Un one-shot historique. Avila est une jeune femme à qui sa mère a appris l'herboristerie. Elle était considérée comme une sorcière, et peut-être l'était-elle un peu. Sur son étagère la plus haute, elle avait des livres de magie noire que sa fille ne pouvait pas toucher.
Mais un jour, Anis, la mère, s'est faite condamner et envoyer au bûcher, et Avila a pu faire une bêtise. Depuis, elle cherche sa mère, elle parle aux animaux et son ombre lui parle.

Malgré ces thèmes qui peuvent être assez lourds, c'est totalement écrit comme de l'aventure historique, pas du tout comme de l'horreur. L'auteur écrit une lettre d'amour à la France du 17e siècle, et le dessinateur n'est pas en reste, c'est très beau. On voit passer quelques personnages historiques, importants ou sous forme de clins d'oeil

J'ai beaucoup aimé les personnages, et l'histoire, et je shippais bien Avila et son amoureux à la fin. Mais dans l'emsemble, le thème principal qui se dégage est "la famille" et ce n'est pas déplaisant, mais pour une BD sur des personnages qui échappent à l'inquisition, ce n'est pas une BD à message non plus.
Peut-être que j'en aurais espéré un peu plus, mais c'était quand même très plaisant à lire, et le sous-arc de pacte avec le diable, qui est une de mes faiblesses, m'a convaincue.

The world situation is the world situation. If you're following the news, you know it as much as I do, if you're not, then there are better sources than scans_daily. But please, no doomscrolling, for your own sake.

In a move which should probably have happened a long time ago, following the Apricot Hellbeast's latest control grab by evicting CNN, Politico and MS NOW from White House press briefings (for not saying only nice things about him), the White House television Press Pool suspended coverage of Trump.

It will probably annoy the Minister who requested it, a survey of youth mental health in the UK has identified that it's NOT young people being snowflakes, it IS a much tougher world to live in. Which I think many of us could have told them but it's good to see the the figures and analysis to back it up.

So I went to see a The Transformers: The Movie 40th Anniversary screening and, apart from a pretty damned ropey looking copy of the movie on our not terribly large cinema screen, the "Optimus Prime: Awakening" short afterwards was A) sparsely attended because the cinema put the lights up as soon as the movie credits started to role and half the audience walked out, B) beautiful to look at, and C) almost totally cryptic, but it was nice to see it was dedicated to Peter Cullen. (And for those looking for a more comprehensive history of the man, beyond "just" his role as Optimus Prime, Chris McFeely's excellent Transformers related YT series: "The Basics on..." has just released a proper memorial piece.

The idiots who run the bldg set up an appointment for today and then never showed up. This is not the first time I've seen them do this. It was not me they were doing this to, it was one of my friends who was supposed to be recertified. They used to do this recertification thing to everybody in the bldg at once, now they space it out, they keep changing the times everybody is supposed to do it. Not much going on with me, I just had to take out the garbage and later go out and get fish for dinner and go to my favorite cafe (not in that order).
