snowflake challenge #1 - introduce yourself

I stumbled upon this challenge and thought, why not? It's probably a good opportunity to make a proper intro post, either way.

I suck at talking about myself but I'll give it a try: I'm 23 years old, I use she/her and they/them pronouns, I'm queer, and I'm a leftist. That's... pretty much all I'm comfortable saying at the moment lol.

The reason I made this account was to comment with more ease in communities posts, challenges, etc. And because so far the atmosphere is a lot more chill than tumblr and I enjoy that (I made my tumblr account recently too, and I keep myself in my bubble, but the drama there is hard to ignore).

I want to start posting fic soon, and when I do it'll likely need some warnings. One of the things I love about writing is exploring taboos, and I use it to deal safely with things that are harder to stomach in other contexts. So, the content I'll write will have dark themes, and/or explore kinks, and in a lot of cases will explore uncomfortable tropes such as incest, dub-con, mentor/mentee relationships and other power gaps, etc. All, of course, properly tagged and warned for. 

Most of my favourite ships are femslash (though I do have some major slash and het ships too), and I have a major weakness for female villains, monstrous women, gothic romance themes, and fairy tales aesthetics.

My main fandoms are DC and Marvel, in any of the 'verses (comics, animated shows like Young Justice, some parts of the MCU, old live-action DC shows and films -I have mixed feelings about the new stuff-, etc. My favorite characters are Diana and Jason Todd in DC, and Tony in Marvel), but I'll likely write stuff for HP, Disney (princesses/villainesses ships are my weakness), GOT, His Dark Materials, Legacies, Pirates of the Caribbean, Sharp Objects or Buffy. My childhoods obsessions were Lynda Carter's Wonder Woman, Star Trek (especially DS9, but I've enjoyed all the shows I've tried out -which are all except Enterprise and the animated one; and I've only watched s1 of Discovery), classic Hollywood films, Gargoyles, and the '60s Addams Family show, so those miiiiiight come up at some points, because I'm planning to do some rewatches. Other than the ones mentioned above, currently I'm mostly into Hazbin Hotel and Rick & Morty.

My tastes tend to run towards gothic horror, with a lot of romance, and the occasional "trashy" (and amazingly fun) romance novel, and I'm extremely picky and grouchy when it comes to adaptations of my favorite books. 

I hope this account serves to meet new people in fandom, because I would love to have a place where I can ramble about all this stuff ^^

This list will be edited as my preferences shift, most likely. Any character mention is a go for character-centric stuff too.

-Buffyverse: Angel(us)/Buffy; anything Willow-related (especially vampire!Willow); Lilah/Wesley.

-Carmilla (book): Carmilla/Laura.

-DC: Bruce/Selina; Bruce/Jason; Clark/Lois (especially involving the Clark/Lois/Superman “triangle”), Harley/Ivy; Conner/M’gann and M’gann/Queen Bee (Young Justice). Any femslash Diana ship. Basically, if I like a DC woman in any incarnation, I can ship her with Diana (Cheeta, Circe, Doctor Poison, Harley, Kara, Katana, Kate Kane, Lana, Lois, M’gann, Poison Ivy, Renee, Selina, Shayera, Silver Swan, Talia, Waller, Zatanna… but if you’ve thought of another one, try it and I’ll see what I can do). Laurel-centric stuff for Arrow, and basically I'll give any ship with her a go except Laurel/Felicity.

-Disney: Ariel/Ursula, Aurora/Maleficent, Beast/Belle, Mulan/Shang, Hades/Megara and Hercules/Megara.

-Dollhouse: practically anything, gen or shippy. But especially Sierra/Victor, Adelle/Victor and Adelle/Dominic.

-Game of Thrones: Cersei/Jaime, Cersei/Sansa, Brienne/Jaime (I warn I probably have a very angsty perspective of that one; basically, I was satisfied with how things happened in canon LOL).

-Harry Potter: practically any ship, but I have a preference for rare femslash ones, things related to Harry, Luna, Regulus or Dumbledore in one way or another, and Ginny/Tom.

-Hazbin Hotel: Alastor/Charlie; Charlie/Vaggie.

-His Dark Materials: Asriel/Marisa; Marisa/Sister Clara.

-Hustlers: Destiny/Ramona.

-Jennifer’s Body: Jennifer/Needy.

-Knives Out: Marta/any.

-Legacies: Josie&/Lizzie. Josie&/Vardemus, Josie&/Kai, Lizzie/the Jinni.

-Marvel: Carol/Yon Rogg; Gamora/Nebula. Multiple Tony ships. Same basic rule as Diana: if I like a character, I likely can ship them with Tony. Some I only ship with him in the films (Yinsen), only in the comics (Beth, Carol, Doom, Doreen, Jocasta, Madame Masque, Natasha, Rumiko), but most I’m open to any incarnation (Bucky, Jan, Jessica, Luke, Matthew, Pepper, Rhodey, Scott, Sam, Sentient Armor, T’Challa, Thor…). You can try prompting others too.

-Misfits: Alisha/Simon.

-Myths and Fairy Tales: Gerda/Snow Queen, Hades/Persephone, Scheherazadae/Shayryar, Yde/Olive, Bluebeard, Rapunzel, Little Red Riding Hood, Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Wizard of Oz... And generally speaking, you can try any femslash ship (especially including villains) and most Greek myths and I might give it a go.

-Nikita: Amanda/Nikita.

-Pirates of the Caribbean: Barbossa/Elizabeth; Elizabeth/Will.

-Ready or Not: Alex/Grace.

-Reign: Catherine/Mary, Elizabeth/Lola, Kenna/Valentine.

-Terminator: Dani/Grace, Jesse/Riley, Jesse/Sarah, Kyle/Sarah.

-The Witcher: Tissaia/Yennefer, Geralt/Renfri.

Hi! I have a lot of similar weaknesses for both femslash and dark horror, villains and gothic romance themes! If you haven't watched the Dracula tv series from 2013 with Katie McGrath, I think it might be of interest to you! It's one of my favorites.

I never watched it, no. It's been on my list for a long time; it looks like it's not taking itself too seriously, which I can appreciate -I can watch it as its own thing instead of grumbling about every little thing they got wrong!! with the original lol. And it looked like it had a lot of femslash options :D

Besides, it'd be nice if I could find a show with Katie McGrath that I actually enjoyed, even if it's a short thing.
