Date: 2020-02-18 11:22 pm (UTC)Favorite character: Cersei has a little edge over the rest of my favorites. I just love a well-done evil queen LOL (just like I love that Cersei was so much more than just that).
Least Favorite character: Jon, I guess, but my dislike wasn’t that strong. I just didn’t like him and wanted him powerless.
5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): Cersei/Sansa, Cersei/Jaime, Brienne/Jaime, and… that’s pretty much it, really. I liked some canon established relationships while they lasted (Ellaria/Oberyn, Shae/Tyrion), but I wouldn’t say I “ship” them, because for me that requires active fandom participation. Though thanks to fics from circa s1 I ended up appreciating Cersei/Ned (lots of crack potential if done well), Daenerys/Viserys (I loved Viserys and there was some good horror stuff there), and Sansa’s dark ships.
Character I find most attractive: Cersei.
Character I would marry: well, if I’m marrying in Westeros it has to be politically convenient, duh. And preferably in warm weather areas. I’m guessing the Dorne prince? OTOH, marrying Bran seems such an easy gig LOL (as long as you get in Tyrion’s good graces, probably).
Character I would be best friends with: Tyrion and I would get along.
a random thought: a while ago I saw a post on tumblr arguing that liking Arya’s ending means you must support Columbus and colonization and my brain imploded.
An unpopular opinion: the finale (and s8 in general) was good; maybe rushed, but still solid. And I disagree with every “OoC” claim I’ve seen so far. Oh, and I liked Joffrey xDD (I mean, sure, in a “love to hate” way, because he was a sadistic brat, but I did).
My Canon OTP: Cersei/Jaime.
My Non-canon OTP: Cersei/Sansa.
Most Badass Character: Bronn. I love a good rags to riches story.
Most Epic Villain: Cersei! Sorry, Daenerys, you don’t measure up xD
Pairing I am not a fan of: eh. I didn’t hate any, not really. I guess Daenerys/Jon, as in “if this two get to reign together I’m out” xD
Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): I’m sure at some point I’ve thought this, but then forgot it because I’m a “don’t cry over split milk” kind of gal with this stuff. Err, okay, I’ve always thought Robb’s Epic Failure As a Leader was supposed to be a way of shitting of him to make Jon look better? But I didn’t care much for Robb, so there was no rage on my part.
Favourite Friendship: Jaime & Tyrion. My boys.
Character I most identify with: Tyrion. So, so much. In a very uncomfortable way :P
Character I wish I could be: the Dorne prince, since he presumably chilled for 8 seasons (instead of suffering senselessly like everybody else LOL), and then had a throne.
Harley Quinn
How I feel about this character: I adore her. She’s such an unusual character too -not so much that she exists (there are plenty of female characters with her insecurities or her pitfalls), but that she gets to do so as a LEAD.
Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character: only Poison Ivy, really (I very rarely multiship, if ever). I do find Joker/Harley interesting on an intellectual level, depending on the writing.
My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: Batman. I love their interactions, especially on the animated show.
My unpopular opinion about this character: among her fans I’ve often seen the sentiment that they’d prefer to erase/gloss over/diminish/etc. her relationship with the Joker, and I can’t say I share it.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: well, I want her to get another film, preferably a Gotham City Sirens one; with canon Harlivy, if I’m allowed to be really self-indulgent :P
Favorite friendship for this character: I don’t know that I’d categorize them as friends, but since I love them both I often like to see Harley and Selina interact. I like seeing Harley interact with heroines in general, too. In the BoP film, some of my favorite moments were with her and Dinah (the hair tie, or how Harley deflated when Dinah told her nobody liked her xD).
My crossover ship: IDEK. My first thought was “Kai Paker”, on the basis that they would destroy the world and it’d be fun to watch LOL

Date: 2020-02-19 12:07 am (UTC)I rarely multiship (I tend to focus on a very small number of characters and ships in the first place. I only have a few more on GOT because the cast is pretty big, and the characters are well-explored outside the usual two leads), but when I do it's usually because... idk, I don't feel there's a competition in the first place? What interests me in both ships, the place I'm coming from when I ship them, the expectations I have for them, etc., are both so different, yet perfectly compatible (so compatible here that the show completely satisfied me), that I don't see why I'd give up either.

Date: 2020-02-19 01:08 am (UTC)Favorite character: triple tie between Harry, Luna, and Regulus.
Least Favorite character: sometimes fandom makes me dislike James, though in truth I like him just fine.
5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): I don’t know that I have an easy top 5 in this fandom. I think it’s the one canon where I have read practically every ship that fell into my lap, from the wholesome to the fucked up to the just plain weird. Some of my favorites have been Harry/Luna, Harry/Regulus (with time travel), Ginny/Tom (psychological horror is my jam and this ship does it well), James/Sirius, or Ron/Pansy.
Character I find most attractive: Fleur in the books sounds really hot.
Character I would marry: any rich, non-prejudiced heiresses?
Character I would be best friends with: Ron. He’s a great guy. Helga Hufflepuff sounds fun too.
a random thought: Snape is an awful teacher but an interesting character, and a lot of the discourse around him in fandom completely misses the point of his narrative.
An unpopular opinion: ditto, but about Dumbledore.
My Canon OTP: eeh… IDK. I like Lucius/Narcisa and Andromeda/Ted, as written in some fics.
My Non-canon OTP: Ginny/Tom, I guess.
Most Badass Character: Minerva McGonagall.
Most Epic Villain: IDK about epic but I find Umbridge and what she represents terrifying.
Pairing I am not a fan of: most of the canon pairings as written by JKR (but I’ve loved them in fic).
Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): I think Ginny’s characterization wasn’t handled well.
Favourite Friendship: Harry & Hermione & Ron.
Character I most identify with: another triple tie between Harry, Luna, and Regulus.
Character I wish I could be: Tonks. Her powers are awesome.
Hermione Granger
How I feel about this character: I like her a lot, and I love her ruthless side, but I have to admit I don’t count her among my favorites.
Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character: in canon not really anyone, in fic I’ve seen her in tons of good ships. My favorite one so far is Fleur/Hermione.
My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: Harry.
My unpopular opinion about this character: there’s NO WAY she could’ve gone to Ravenclaw.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I wish she’d been allowed by the narrative to “wrong”/temporarily leave Harry in the same way Ron did, see what would happen then.
Favorite friendship for this character: the trio.
My crossover ship: because of a previous comment I have GOT on my mind and I think she and Sam would make for a very sweet pair.

Date: 2020-02-19 12:24 pm (UTC)I like Ron too! Sure, he has flaws, but so do Harry and Hermione. I think the movies making him a buffoon (as well as the ship wars) added to a lot of the Ron the Death Eater mentality you see in fandom.
there’s NO WAY she could’ve gone to Ravenclaw.
Hermione's just such a Gryffindor. Yes, I think she's very smart, so that's some leverage for Ravenclaw. But she is very much about being smart and talented for a greater purpose, and she very much promotes what is good and right in her mind.
I wish the narrative had at least called her out on some of the negative things she did. Hermione made some questionable decisions, like permanently scarring Marietta Edgecombe. I realize in the moment she had to protect the DA, but I could also see Cho's point, you know? So something like that, where Ron and Harry had to tell her to take a break, would have been good. She DID get called out a lot on how she treated House Elves, but that was also sort of the other extreme, where I at least don't think she was wrong in theory. I just think, like Ron, that she was handling it in ways that were actually cruel, and not keeping in mind how they felt. I love the scene in OoTP (I think?) where Ron actively unveils all the clothes she's hidden through the Common Room once she's gone to bed.

Date: 2020-02-20 01:50 am (UTC)I think Hermione is too stubborn and self-righteous to be anything but a Gryffindor, let alone a Ravenclaw (I think Ravenclaws are inherently more open-minded/willing to analyze things from different perspectives).
I think the films' perfect!Hermione sadly influenced JKR in the later books. She could do no wrong. And nah, I don't only see Cho's point but I'm behind her on this. I get that Hermione wanted to protect the DA, but she scarred (maybe permanently; at the very least she still had scars the next year) a 16 yo girl. Hermione is smart and resourceful, and I'm sure there were better and less horrifying methods to deter snitches -especially because her spell didn't STOP anyone from giving them up, it just punished them after the fact. It was cruel and vindictive.
The SPEW thing always felt uncomfortable to me, with the "slave race happy about it" trope. But yeah, Hermione didn't handle it well.

Date: 2020-02-19 12:02 am (UTC)Favorite character: Diana; I imprinted on Lynda Carter as a child and it went all downhill from there. Jason Todd, Selina, Harley, M’gann from Young Justice, and Laurel Lance from Arrow are serious competitors.
Least Favorite character: this question would work better on a case-by-case basis. Either way, I’ve always thought the Joker was overrated as a villain.
5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): Bruce/Selina, Bruce/Jason, Diana/female villains (mainly Cheeta and Circe), Harley/Ivy, Clark/Lois/Superman.
Character I find most attractive: DEFINITELY a case-by-case question LOL. Okay, going by the DC film verse, since it’s what I’ve seen last, I’m gonna go with Huntress. She’s tall, deadly, and awkward, ma’am. And Laurel was gorgeous.
Character I would marry: if I lived on the DC universe I’d move to Themyscira and immediately become a hermit, okay. If a nice and strong amazon wants to accompany in solitude that’s fine by me, but I’m not getting to the outside world for a minute (Themyscira is threatened often but comparatively it’s the safest place LBR).
Character I would be best friends with: Alfred. We’d bitch about everything and everyone.
a random thought: now that Arrow’s over, part of me wants to rewatch the old Laurel parts, because damn, I loved her before it was all over. But I’m not willing to go through the paaaaaiiiin again LOL.
An unpopular opinion: I’m not sold on Pattinson as Bruce. I just don’t see it, and I’m going to need convincing (I know this is probably not that unpopular in other circles, but in tumblr and this side of fandom, it certainly seems to be). And anyone who writes Bruce as the Domniest Domn is free to do so, but I’ll never stop thinking they’re objectively wrong xD
My Canon OTP: Bruce/Selina.
My Non-canon OTP: Bruce/Jason; it’s one of those ships where I don’t believe there’s any basis in canon, at all, but the idea of turning them shippy in a fanon setting allows to explore the fucked up parts in the relationship in a very intimate way and I’m into that.
Most Badass Character: Cassandra Cain (comics) or M’gann (Young Justice).
Most Epic Villain: when Lex Luthor is written well, he shines.
Pairing I am not a fan of: Clark/Diana. If I could erase a canon ship it’d be that one LOL. Biggest NOTP of my entire life.
Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): with so many writers, I think every character’s been screwed up. Diana, Bruce, and Clark, by virtue of having high amount of content, probably more than most. And Laurel in Arrow was done SO dirty. SO SO DIRTY. Ugh.
Favourite Friendship: the Birds of Prey (comics), especially Barbara & Dinah, and Dinah & Helena. Everyone & Dinah, really, she has some of the best friendships in this canon.
Character I most identify with: Laurel from Arrow, which is one of the reasons I took it so personally :P
Character I wish I could be: hermit amazon, I just said so xD. And I mean, kryptonian powers are the dream. But I wouldn’t want to be any of them personally :/
Cersei Lannister
How I feel about this character: she did nothing wrong, ever, in her life, and I love her. Nah, kidding xD. But I do love her A LOT.
Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character: Sansa and Jaime. Fic writers have made me appreciate Cersei/Ned too, but I wouldn’t go as far as to say I ship it.
My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: Tyrion. Runner-ups are Joffrey, Robert, and Euron. All terrible relationship, but they offered important things for her arc.
My unpopular opinion about this character: she’s far, far less terrible than people make her out to be; she was a better queen candidate than Daenerys (and Westeros agrees with me); and I’m happy as a clam with her ending (she died a MARTYR, beloved, vindicated, and she’ll be well-remembered. It’s more than I dared to dream).
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: in my wildest dreams she survives and remains queen LOL (and then she and Sansa in the North get to have power plays).
Favorite friendship for this character: Qyburn. I liked their dynamic a lot, but I’ll admit I don’t think she had other friends anyway LOL.
My crossover ship: since I just talked DC, I’m now imagining her on a date with Brucie Wayne and my brain is melting xD

Date: 2020-02-19 10:27 pm (UTC)I'm not sure about Battinson yet. Admittedly the most I've seen of his acting is clips of Twilight, but he seems to have made some interesting choices in the films he's been in since. I feel he'll either turn out to be really bad or surprisingly good.
no subject
Date: 2020-02-20 01:55 am (UTC)Yeah, I haven't seen him act either, though people tell me he's good. That's something. IDK, I just don't SEE it, I can't picture him as Bruce. But I guess other actors have surprised me in other roles. And even if I don't loooove him, as soon as I don't hate him either and there are other things in the film I do love it'd probably be fine. I didn't like Bale either, and the TDK trilogy is not my favorite by any means, but I liked Catwoman's story enough to enjoy TDKR (she got to have her cake and eat it too and that's all that matters to me).

Date: 2020-02-20 01:55 am (UTC)Favorite character: Morty. His evolution over the show has really won me over.
Least Favorite character: hmm… I guess Jerry? He’s a bit too pitiful for me to fully dislike him, but sometimes he annoys me.
5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon) : eh, I don’t really get shippy feelings with this show.
Character I find most attractive: Beth.
Character I would marry: absolutely no one xD
Character I would be best friends with: Summer and I would’ve hung out in high school.
a random thought: if every episode was an evil!Morty episode… I’d probably end oversaturated, but the though is nice.
An unpopular opinion: IDK, I guess I don’t get why there’s so much fandom wank about this show in particular. Like, if there ever was a show the tumblr purity squad should hate and stay away from is this one, and yet they watch it AND they try to keep their holier-than-thou attitude in the meantime.
My Canon OTP: n/a.
My Non-canon OTP: n/a.
Most Badass Character: Beth.
Most Epic Villain: evil!Morty. Or, depending on how you watch the show, Rick.
Pairing I am not a fan of: n/a.
Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another) : I don’t have strong feelings for anyone outside the Smith-Sanchez family, and I haven’t felt they’ve been wronged.
Favourite Friendship: I like how Beth & Summer’s relationship has evolved over the show.
Character I most identify with: no one, really.
Character I wish I could be: getting to be Rick for a day would be one hell of a trip. But seriously, only a day.
Rick Sanchez
How I feel about this character: he is a SUPREMELY shitty person, but what a great character.
Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character: no one. I did think the dynamic with Unity was interesting, but it doesn’t go as far as shipping.
My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: Morty. Again, Rick is terrible in general and terrible to Morty in particular, but it is a great dynamic nonetheless.
My unpopular opinion about this character: hmm. Okay, here’s one. In the episode where the therapist told him off, I remember people over fandom arguing that it had been the show “disagreeing with Rick”, proving him wrong, etc. And I remember thinking, sure, it’s nice to hear someone see through Rick, but the show is still about RICK, about RICK’S issues, RICK’S family, RICK’S whims, Rick-Rick-Rick. So nothing really changed because of that scene.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: well. I kind of him to die at the end. IDK, I don’t really want the show to end in a “and then they kept having adventures” way. I want something more… final. And Rick’s death is the only way you get that, IMO (bonus if Morty’s responsible, one way or another. After all that Rick’s put him through, it’d be nice if he got some payback LOL).
Favorite friendship for this character: I don’t think Rick has friends LOL. IDK, Beth? Their relationship has improved a lot, at least.
My crossover ship: … I’m now paralyzed at the thought of him and Lord Asriel meeting xDD (they’re the same type of people but with very different goals: one basically acts like a god, the other wants to beat god).
