-Finally Caroline and Jeremy have verbain! (and other people too, but these have been the ones more vulnerable to compulsion). It only took for vampires OTHER than Damon to become an actual risk LMAO. And Stefan had to be the one to prompt it…

-I think Caroline would do well in broadcast journalism, but obviously being a vampire is a big obstacle (OTOH, there are tons of jokes about news host or celebrities looking so good they must be immortal, so as long as you change your style enough you could pull off a few decades there IMO). I love that Logan used to babysit her LOL (and that he gave us vampire!Caroline foreshadowing); his fight with Liz was great too, but he killed Mama McCall from Teen Wolf so I won’t miss him LOL.

-And Elena found out about Katherine (with some additional secrets included). I want them to meet so badly. The whole thing ended up making me feel bad for Jenna; Elena is absolutely right about how unfair (and in this town, upset) keeping secrets from her is, but the people SHE keeps secrets from keep getting screwed over for it.

-I get the feeling the show wants me to be awed by how “badass” Elena physically fighting a vampire is, but I’m a lot more impressed by how she convinced Lexi’s bf not to kill Damon. Like, those are some next level salesperson stills. Go into marketing, Elena. Or something more high-stakes, because you clearly like the rush a little bit too much xD (I mean, I don’t think you could date vampires if there wasn’t something off about you in the firs place TBH).

-I haaaaaate the whole Caroline/Matt/Elena situation (the only part I enjoyed is Elena trying to say -to a very skeptical Caroline- it’s not “about her” when two episodes before she’d checked in to see if Matt was still into her LOL. That was so high school. And I continue to be fascinated by Caroline and Elena's dynamic -hence the queerbaity line as title-, at least; I love how Caroline chaffes and resents against Elena's social status, but isn't at all resigned to it, and how that attitude catches Elena off-guard and makes her change directions in the middle of her -likely subconcious- script. It's a small thing for now, but I get the feeling it's the type of stuff that would grow as Caroline gains real power). Can Matt just go away? The scene that really pissed me off is when he goes in the defensive against Tyler and it SOUNDS like he’s defending Caroline… when in truth Tyler hadn’t said anything about her. He’d teased Matt in a typical teenager way about a new relationship (the “we” speech was such a dudebro moment xD), but didn’t make it personal, and it was Matt the one that acted as if being seen with Caroline was something he needed to defend.

-Speaking of Tyler, I laughed at his scenes with Jeremy so much. IS THIS WHAT READING A HIGH SCHOOL SLASH AU FEELS LIKE?? With bonus werewolf foreshadowing LOL. His father is definitely a piece of shit (he reminds me of the comics version of Howard Stark waaaay too much), but I still want to see him in more council stuff.

-Anna/Jeremy is the other HS Meet Cute LOL. I like her (the whole “I’m talking to you because I have this need to be right” thing was sooo relatable). Every time someone shows romantic interest to one of the characters I’m just going to assume their some kind of monster, especially since vampires’ first strategy seems to be going straight to honeypotting xD (I’m looking at Bonnie’s new boo too).

-Elena says she once wanted to be a writer (isn’t there enough suffering in your life gurl?? LMAO) and Stefan that he’d wanted to be a doctor… and AFAIK Elena ends up as a doctor (like her father too). It’s probably completely unintentional, but still interesting. I don’t ship them but I enjoy their scenes on the basis that they look pretty together (the dance! The vamp-face kiss! Totally borrowed from BTVS too LOL).

-Did they really bring Gina Torres to kiss Damon, tell us how great he is (though at least that can be interpreted as a ruse), then get murdered by him? Something Elena will remain conveniently ignorant about, of course. At least someone tried to get revenge for Lexi.

-Obviously Alaric’s wife Isobel was killed by a vampire, which means Damon (though for a brief moment I entertained the juicy possibility of it being Stefan, even knowing the show wouldn’t go there LOL). And now she turns out to be Elena’s mom. If I had any doubts before, now I’m 100% sure she’s alive. You gotta bring the mysterious bio-mom into the equation, it’s the law.

-Damon’s “I’m not taking sides, you just pissed me off so I’m gonna kill you” cracked me up.

-Stefan: “hey Bonnie how are you? you doing well with your trauma? Cool, now do a spell for me” SMH xD

-Alaric’s hair has improved SO MUCH in Legacies. Someone give him a comb please.

-If she was going to die anyway they should’ve just given Grams a bigger role, on the basis that I like her ¬¬

YES, Elena's empathy and manipulation skills are off the charts. She's by far the best player in the game, especially early on.

You're reminding me of all the things I hate about Matt, haha. He continues to be the worst! And Caroline and Elena's friendship is really interesting at this point, the way they play off each other is great.

Yeah, in order to make sense of it you have to either think Elena is stupid (which she clearly isn't; maybe she's not booksmart, but certainly not stupid either), or that she didn't consider it a priority, not enough to care about their safety -or maybe that after taking Jeremy's memories she subconsciously saw the benefits of being able to ask Damon to repeat the trick.

She's really good at handling (most) people -some are particularly resistant to her, like Caroline or Vicky, and I think Stefan can play that game too-, and I think it's because she's a typical case of "believe what you're selling" LOL. If she ever became self-aware IDK how well she could sustain that, but lucky for Elena people like her are really good at fooling themselves.

Matt sucks. Period. :P

Caroline/Elena is shaping up to be my favorite relationship by far. I really want to see how Caroline's vampirism (and later, Elena's) influences it.

Full disclosure: I grew up in a home with two Elenas (and I'd say I'm a Vicky), so I recognize the type LOL.

SMH Alaric. I mean, befriending Damon & Co is fine, but then he goes around disproportionally punishing teenagers, not to mention a bunch of other Legacies-related stuff that'd be too long to explain now. And during s1 I got the feeling he had (at least at some point) romantic feelings for Caroline, and yeah, I know this show's premise is about centenarian/millenarian vampires getting it on with high school students, but after meeting Caroline as a teen it just feels weird xDD

So yeah, I'm guessing Alaric's story is gonna raise eyebrows LOL
