-Caroline’s scenes with Damon are chilling to the bone and one of the best horror elements of the show, and I think the subplot opens a dialogue that merits its own post… but for now I'll just say I’ve completely lost interest in it as a ship. It always ties back to Elena, Delena, and Stelena, and I like my badwrong monster ships to be about the girl in it and not another one xD (same issue I had with Josie/Vardemus-Clarke ultimately being about Hope). Anyway, my favorite scene is the sequence in the Salvatore house.

-Her friends’ and Stefan’s attitudes to it add to the horror in a very true-to-life way. For all that Stefan talked about how humans aren’t playthings and he shouldn’t treat Caroline like one, his plan against Damon required exactly that. Elena went gung-ho against Damon after seeing the bites and saw how bad Caroline was after his attack, yet jumped straight to dismissal and victim policing her the very next day. Bonnie’s caught up with her own thing and let’s out that judgey “why would you do that?” when Caroline tries to open up about it and says she might have “let” Damon bite her.

-The bitchier Caroline gets, the more I like her. I love how she shares that control freak/organizer side with Lizzie (otoh, the way she's processing her rape and abuse is 100% Josie -deny-repress-internalize-deny-repress-internalize). Speaking of which, I want to know more about Liz. I love that she knows about the vampires, and the whole concept of the council.

-Katherine finally appeared! And the way it happened was pulled straight out of Carmilla (the book) LMAO. Less sapphic, sadly, but I still like her. And I liked her scenes with Stefan, especially the “my brother plays rough”, “somehow I think you play rougher”, or the parallels it creates between him and Caroline.

-I officially dislike Matt. Blaming Vicki because Tyler and Jeremy decided to start a dick measuring contest (I still uncomfortably relate to her BTW). He has this paternalistic vibe I find very punch-able.

-I liked Jenna’s asshole ex Logan :/ Despite being a douche, he was still a better choice for her, since at least he had the courtesy of being the dead one in the relationship xD. And IDK, I like their whole thing, the banter was fun.

It's a lot more honest than similar plots I've seen across the years, TBH.

LOL. I'm laughing at the fact that Matt's the character I dislike the most when he's just a measly human when there's a killer and rapist (and potentially more in the near future) around, but in supernatural canons the moral standards get all messed up xD

To be fair, the whole major thing happened off-screen, he hasn't been around since the pilot (I think? If he has he was so forgettable I can't remember it), and I think it's just the writers way to get rid of him so they could write in a new sheriff (who has the misfortune of being Alaric's new love interest).

Matt is like everyday douchebaggery, you know? And he thinks he's a good guy. I wanted him to get killed off every season and it never happened. Him becoming mayor is like salt in the wound. :P

Alaric's love interest from last season is a black woman, dating a black man (who she preferred over Alaric. And with whom she got accidentally married in the Cupid episode LOL). Given what I know of TVD's track record I'm surprised she made it (so far). Maybe there's hope for the poor sheriff!! xDD
