You Can't Save Them All

I didn’t enjoy the episode as much as last one, but then again, I enjoyed last one a lot.

I’m sorry to see Kai go without having him interact with Lizzie AT ALL. Like, what’s up with that. I wanted to see that dynamic. I hope his appearance still influences the twins, one way or another, since it’s what I’m here for xD. My favorite part of him this episode was his eyeroll before Alaric killed him LMAO.

I’m still laughing how dark!Josie stopped to put on fancy mirrorverse makeup and re-style her hair before going to save Alaric LMAO. The one scene where I really FELT the difference was the one in the hospital, where she’s just calmingly looking at the effect her actions had on Lizzie, almost killing her, like she’s not FEELING anything about it (she saved her family and helped the teens in the prison world, but she seemed to have little concern for anyone, including herself). And then she absorbs the black magic, because helping Lizzie is ingrained in her (going dark would've been the perfect moment to let her die, thinking of the Merge, but it didn't seem to cross her mind). Ugh, I could do so much with this as a fic premise.

It seems the show is gonna go there with Jade/Josie and the only thing I want is for Lizzie to point out that Jade fucked their uncle when that happens (or Alaric, since he read Kai’s note. That moment was awkward xD). I deserve that laugh. And since she helped save Lizzie and gave Josie advice on her I hope that means she interacts with the twins as a package deal too -she and Lizzie would have a lot to bond over, IMO.

Since he cheated death (otherwise I’d be soooooo pissed off about this plot), I can say I love how Dorian thought his way out of the compulsion and went around the prophecy about Landon's possible death. I love him. I love how smart he is, how well his instincts work. Now this is a human that can still thrive among supernatural creatures.

I look forward to see what they do with Alyssa, Jade, and Wendy. I liked the concept of a werewolf forced to turn every night for ten years and how that might affect dynamics, but I can’t say I’ll miss Diego. His werewolf form was ugly (give me Hope’s and Rafael’s pretty full wolves any day) and the actor was the weakest link. I hope the other three girls still retain their resentment towards Alaric, and potentially Emma and even the rest of the staff. Like, I’m glad Alaric sees the error of his ways and is trying to do better, but that his MO and he continues to disappoint! So, you know, I’d still side-eye the guy xD

I can’t say I cared much for Sebastian or Sizzie but I’m sad for Lizzie (though I'm guessing the door for a return is open. It feels like that with this show, IDK). And I’m worried this will lead to Lizzie/MG. PLEASE SHOW, NEVER PAIR TOGETHER LIZZIE AND MG. SHE’S NOT INTO HIM, DON’T PUSH THIS ON HER. This is my one fear, okay. I get the feeling that MG’s comment about “dark temptresses” was supposed to be about her? (there’s… nobody else it could really apply to) And like, fuck off. Implications aside, none of those words even remotely resemble Lizzie.

It looks like the show will give me Alyssa/Kaleb. I’m tentatively interested, since I like them both a lot. I’ve seen people on tumblr complain about how “illogical” it is that Kaleb is attracted to a girl who almost killed his sister but here’s the thing. One, what does attraction have to do with logic xD. Two, Alyssa did that UNDER MAGICAL INFLUENCE, and even if it’s probably something Kaleb won’t just let slide, he’s the type to acknowledge that and put some of the responsibility in Hope and MG, the ones who took her to that point. Besides, Elena is married to a guy who raped one of her besties (among other things I still don't know about), so it seems on brand! LOL. 

Anyway, I’m excited for the new episode (I have a rule against watching promos, but this show makes me break it half the time LOL). I love simulation/dreamscapes episodes, I love noir episodes, and this is giving me the two at once. The girls all look amazing, especially Lizzie, and it looks like there’s going to be some Josie/Lizzie conflict (my favorite thing in the world!). Vardemus is back too, at least on some level! Just no Lizzie/MG, pleaaaase xD.
